Dr. Carolina Amaya, DOM
Dr. Carolina Amaya (formerly Zakes) is Nationally Board Certified in Acupuncture and licensed to practice in the state of Florida. She holds a BS in Biology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK and holds a Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree (DOM) from Acupuncture and Massage College in Miami, FL. In accompaniment to her Traditional Chinese Medicine training she also holds diplomas in Biology and Health Sciences.
Dr. Amaya specializes in treating Holistic Fertility and Reproductive Acupuncture, as well as endocrine and autoimmune disease, musculoskeletal and nerve disorders, IVF support, hormone balance, PCOS, natural labor induction, emotional health including stress/anxiety/depression, weight management, and digestive disorders. Her cultural background and mastery of Mayan and Aztec traditional medicine, combined with an evidence-based understanding of the relationship of mind, body and spirit, lends a unique depth to her approach as a physician.
By combining acupuncture, Chinese dietary therapy, and herbal medicine, the body’s natural balance and hormonal function can be restored.
