Why is Acupuncture Important for Postpartum?

Did you know the uterus takes around six weeks to return to the pelvis after birth? This means recovering from childbirth can take 6-8 weeks.

This time can be challenging for new moms because they aren’t feeling too great, and they also have to care for their new blessing. Acupuncture can actually aid in the recovery process for new moms by promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Acupuncture also helps heal and rejuvenate from the physical birthing process.

This period of change can be challenging for new moms to adjust. You brought this beautiful miracle into this world and now you have to manage caring for your new baby along with the demands of your recovering body. Giving birth is a big deal and takes a huge toll on your body. New moms will often experience recovery complications or postpartum depression from the stress if they don’t make time to prioritize their care.

Acupuncture is a great option for new moms to focus on themselves and heal. Since acupuncture works to balance your body, it’s especially important for postpartum depression and inflammation.
